What Does a Door Damper Do?
Ever wonder what a door damper actually does? We have the answer! Door dampers have two main functions:

Automatic Closure – the first thing that a door damper does is ensure that the door it is installed on closes automatically, helping to reduce the spread of a fire if one should occur. The automatic closure function is controlled by a spring that compresses when the door is open and releases as the door begins to close – forcing it to shut the whole way.

Controlled Movement Speed – the second function of door dampers is to stop doors from slamming shut at speed and causing damage or injury. The closure speed is kept slow by using a piston that is moved through fluid for the optimal speed.

Justor Retaining Brake FR
The Justor FR retaining brake eliminates door slamming caused by wind pressure, heavy handed users or door closer devices that have been installed. It operates in the last 10º of closing, ensuring that the the door fully closes and holds closed every time. The final closing speed is fully adjustable from between 1 and 10 seconds.
